I couldn't figure it out for a min either. It's like this...don't try to use the ones to the right of your message. Instead, look at the bottom of it where it has the link..."Emoticons". (or click here. [link]) There you will find a complete list of all the smileys. like for a heart you would type : heart : only without the spaces...like this
